Hareline Dyed UV Polar Chenille
Hareline Dyed UV Polar Chenille is a long-fibre chenille with translucent fibres that undulate softly in the water. It is used to build broad, mobile bodies on streamers and larger flies for trout, salmon, steelhead, saltwater and warmwater fishing. The UV finish provides a UV-reactive or UV-reflective colour treatment; it is not a phosphorescent material and does not produce an afterglow.
Construction and use
Secure a short exposed section at the hook shank, then wind the material in adjacent turns. Sweep the long fibres rearward before each turn so they remain clear of the next wrap and retain their flowing movement. Wrap spacing and additional layers control the density and overall body profile. Hareline Dyed UV Polar Chenille can also be used as a synthetic hackle-like element or as part of a wing on large streamers, with the fibres arranged to open and move naturally in the water.
