Hareline Electric Ripple Ice Fibre
Hareline Electric Ripple Ice Fibre is a loose, textured synthetic fibre material for streamer wings and tails. Its rippled structure adds movement and helps create a full, mobile profile without forming a compact core-based body. The fibres have a reflective finish that adds visual variation to the fly in the water.
Construction and use
Use the material in bundles, adjusting the amount to the intended fly size and profile. For a wing or tail, align the tips where needed, secure the bundle on the hook shank and trim it to the desired length. Electric Ripple Ice Fibre can also be placed in a dubbing loop and twisted to make synthetic hackle for Intruder-style streamers. Loose fibres should not be wound directly like chenille; they are used as a bundle or worked in a dubbing loop.
- Form: loose, textured fibres with no tying core.
- Finish: reflective surface characteristic of the Ice Fibre family.
- Wings: for fuller, mobile streamer profiles.
- Tails: for slim or more expansive fly endings.
- Dubbing loop: for making synthetic hackle on Intruder-style streamers.
