Hareline Extra Select Craft Fur
Hareline Extra Select Craft Fur is a loose synthetic fur with long fibres. It is used for wings, tails and fuller profiles on streamers, including flies intended for saltwater fishing. Its open structure allows a soft, mobile bundle to be built without treating the material as a continuous core-based body material.
Construction and use
Cut the required bundle from the backing, even the tips if needed, and secure the bundle to the hook shank with a few loose thread wraps before tightening. The fibres can be placed as a wing or tail, trimmed with scissors and shaped gradually to suit the streamer profile. A smaller bundle tied close to the base produces a narrower silhouette, while a fuller bundle adds more volume. The material can also be placed in a dubbing loop, allowing the fibres to spread around the loop and form a broader, more mobile component. Select and stack fibres according to the profile required rather than trying to wind the loose fur directly.
