Hareline Frizzle Chenille
Hareline Frizzle Chenille is chenille with a pronounced, irregular surface for creating fuller fly and streamer bodies. Wrapped along the shank, it produces a strongly textured profile that may be left loose or trimmed to shape. It is suited to patterns that call for a fibrous body rather than a smooth, uniform finish.
Construction and use
Expose a short section of the core by sweeping the fibres away, then tie the core in on the hook shank. Wrap Frizzle Chenille in touching turns while controlling the direction of the fibres and the overall body volume. Sweep the fibres rearward after each turn so they remain clear of the next wrap. Secure the chenille with thread, trim the waste and shape the profile before finishing the head.
- Form: fibrous chenille for wrapping.
- Surface: characteristically frizzled and textured.
- Profile: slim to full, depending on spacing and trimming.
- Uses: lake flies, streamers and strongly textured bodies.
