Hareline Frog Foam
Hareline Frog Foam is a 2 mm flat foam sheet printed with a frog-spot pattern. It can be cut into frog backs and other shapes for surface flies. The markings help position the pattern on the finished component, while the flat sheet works well with a hand-cut template or a matching frog-body cutter.
Construction and use
Select a section of the sheet that suits the fly size and position the markings so the main spots remain visible on the back. Cut the shape with sharp scissors, a knife or a suitable frog-body cutter. Secure the foam with broad, controlled thread wraps; a thin layer of compatible adhesive may help stabilise a component, but adhesive choice must suit the materials being joined. Keep thread tension controlled because concentrated pressure can cut the sheet.
