Hareline Grizzly Micro Legs
Hareline Grizzly Micro Legs are fine prepared strands with contrasting barring. Their small size and delicate profile suit legs on small nymphs and other short insect-like appendages. Individual strands can also be tied as short tails, feelers or restrained accents along the sides of a body.
Construction and use
Pull the required number of fibres from the bundle and measure them before tying so both sides of the fly remain similar in length. Secure the strands with moderate thread pressure, especially on a fine hook shank. For legs, leave the ends slightly longer than the intended finished profile and trim them after the fly is completed. On small nymphs, make a trial tie-in on one section first and check that the barring remains visible without overloading the body. The material can be arranged in pairs or used singly, depending on the pattern and the desired amount of movement.
