Hareline Hares Ice Dub
Hareline Hare’s Ice Dub combines the natural, irregular texture of hare fur with the reflective fibres of synthetic Ice Dub. Instead of uniform glitter, the body retains a muted buggy outline interrupted by small flashes of light. It is a useful choice when a conventional nymph should remain natural in character but gain additional visibility under water.
Construction and use
Twist a sparse amount onto thread for an abdomen or place it in a dubbing loop for a fuller thorax. Brushing after wrapping exposes both the natural hairs and the reflective fibres. Compared with pure Ice Dub the effect is quieter and more insect-like; compared with Hare’s Ear Plus the flash is more apparent.
- Blend: Hare’s Ear-style fur combined with Ice Dub.
- Effect: a natural spiky profile broken by point-like reflections.
- Uses: nymphs, wet flies, caddis larvae and bottom-working patterns.
- Technique: a thin dubbing noodle or loop followed by brushing.
