Hareline Ice Dub Shimmer Fringle

Hareline Ice Dub Shimmer Fringe is a ready fringe made from Ice Dub fibres with their ends fused together. Cut off the required section and tie it in as a wing, part of a fly body or a reflective accent on flies and streamers. The fused construction makes it possible to prepare a controlled fibre bundle without aligning individual strands one by one.

Construction and use

Cut a section to suit the size of the fly. Use the full width for a larger wing, or narrow and trim the piece before tying it in for a smaller pattern. Position it on the hook shank, make a few light securing wraps, check the alignment and then tighten the thread. Trim the free end with scissors after securing it, or shape it to the desired wing profile. The material can also form part of a body or provide a small reflective accent. Keep the thread pressure controlled so the tied-in fringe retains the intended spread.
