Hareline Ice Dub Shimmer Sheer

Hareline Ice Dub Shimmer Sheer is a flattened, fused sheet of sheer Ice Dub fibres. Cut it into wing cases, backs, cheeks or body sections to create custom shapes and widths. The sheet format is useful on small nymphs as well as larger flies where a broader surface is required.

Construction and use

Cut the required shape with sharp scissors before starting the fly. For a back or wing case, leave a small tying margin so the piece can be stretched over the shaped body and secured without distorting its edges. Tie the sheet in at the rear, form the underbody, then pull the material forward and secure it near the eye. For cheeks, cut two matching pieces and tie them along the sides. Use controlled, relatively light thread wraps: they hold the sheet in place while reducing the risk of cutting through its fused structure. Finish by trimming the excess cleanly.
