Hareline Lycra Foil Stretch
Hareline Lycra Foil Stretch is an elastic sheet with a foil reflective surface for cutting fly components. It can be shaped into bodies, wings and tails, with the width and outline selected for the pattern being tied. The package contains 2 sheets, each approximately 14 × 9 cm.
Construction and use
Cut the component from the sheet before tying, leaving a small attachment allowance where needed. For a body, place the strip or cut shape over the prepared underbody and secure it with thread wraps; the elasticity helps it follow a curved or tapered profile. Wings and tails can be cut to a template and then tied in at their root. Apply moderate tension so the outline stays intact and the thread does not cut through the sheet. Keep the foil surface on the outside of the finished component.
