Hareline Midge Diamond Braid
Hareline Midge Diamond Braid is a continuous braided material for forming bodies and segments on small flies. The compact braid wraps along the hook shank to create an even profile, rather than a fibre-covered surface. Its reflective finish adds a clear accent to a body without introducing a hackle-like halo.
Construction and use
Tie in the end of the braid and wrap adjacent turns under steady tension. It can form a complete body, a single segment or a ribbing detail; the number and spacing of turns control the final width and segmentation. When the required length is reached, secure the braid with thread and trim the waste. The Midge format suits small nymphs, wet flies, insect imitations and compact streamers. A thread underbody can be used to establish the intended taper before wrapping.
