Hareline Mini Adult Damsel
Hareline Mini Adult Damsel is the smaller size of the semi-stiff tubular braided material used for extended adult damselfly bodies. The prepared component forms a slim fly body and lets you match the body length and proportions to smaller hooks. It is a body component to be secured to the shank and can then be finished with transverse barring when the pattern calls for visible segmentation.
Construction and use
Cut a section for the required extended body length and seal the cut end with gentle heat, resin or adhesive. Tie the prepared piece to the hook shank, keeping it aligned and properly shaped. Add barring with a waterproof marker when the pattern requires segmented damselfly markings. Mini Adult Damsel is used in the same manner as the standard Adult Damsel Body, with the smaller size suited to smaller flies and shorter extended bodies.
