Hareline Speckled Chenille
Hareline Speckled Chenille is chenille for building fly and streamer bodies. Its broken, changing colour pattern gives the wrapped surface a varied appearance, while incorporated flash strands add shiny accents along the body without altering the basic chenille construction.
Construction and use
Before tying in, expose a short section of the core so the thread can grip the material securely. Wrap the chenille along the hook shank in adjacent turns under even tension. Sweep the fibres rearward before each turn, especially when building a compact, clean body surface. At the required stopping point, secure the material with thread, trim the excess and form the transition into the head or ribbed section. It can be used wherever a continuous body material with a broken colour pattern is required.
- Form: chenille intended for winding.
- Pattern: speckled, with a broken and changing appearance.
- Accent: incorporated flash strands with a shiny finish.
- Uses: wet-fly bodies, streamer bodies and other fly patterns.
