Hareline Standard Tubing
Hareline Standard Tubing is elastic, hollow body tubing for winding bodies and forming ribs. Its tubular construction can be wrapped around the hook shank as a continuous body covering or spaced as a distinct rib over an underbody. The colour range allows selection for mayfly, stonefly and caddis-style patterns without changing the tying method.
Construction and use
Anchor the tubing at the rear of the fly, keep moderate tension and wind it toward the eye. Use touching turns for a continuous covered body, or leave even gaps when the tubing is intended to act as ribbing. Secure it at the front and cut away the excess after checking the proportions. Choose the colour and tubing scale to match the hook and the intended pattern, then keep the thread wraps firm enough to hold the tube without flattening its form.

- Construction: a central open channel preserves the tubular body form during tying.
