Hareline Stripped Goose Biots
Hareline Stripped Goose Biots are goose biots prepared by removing part of the feather barbs. The result is a narrow, controlled material for defined fly details. Use these biots for stonefly tails, antennae, wings, wingcases and bodies, especially where the pattern calls for a tapered element.
Construction and use
Check the working side and direction of the biot before securing it, as these determine the visible edge and the overlap of successive turns. Trim the waste end after tying it in and secure the material with several thread wraps. Select each biot by the length and shape required for the pattern. Maintain even tension while wrapping so the body or wingcase remains orderly.
