Hareline Strung Guinea Feathers
Hareline Strung Guinea Feathers are guinea fowl feathers joined at the base in an orderly strip, making individual feathers easy to select while tying. The material is suited to streamers, wet flies and salmon flies. Depending on the feather shape and the section chosen, it can form wings, cheeks, tails and other contrasting details. The characteristic guinea marking gives a fly a clear, natural accent. Feathers held in a strip also make it easy to choose a piece that matches the width and silhouette of the pattern. The product is supplied in a 15 × 10 cm package.
Construction and use
Select feathers individually by removing them from the strip or cutting off the required section. Before securing a feather, match its width, usable length and marking to the intended part of the fly. For wings and cheeks, pay attention to symmetry; for tails, consider the fibre length and its natural alignment.
