Hareline Thin Crystal Skin

Hareline Thin Crystal Skin is the thinnest version of the soft, flexible, adhesive-backed Crystal Skin family. The sheet can be cut into small shapes for bodies, wingcases and outer layers. It can also be used as a thin overlayer on thicker Crystal Skin when a layered body construction is required.

Construction and use

Fit the shape to the hook, cut it with sharp scissors and peel away the protective backing. For a larger piece, secure one end to the underbody first, lay the sheet flat and press it into place without wrinkles. On small flies, work in short sections and use broad, light finger or thread pressure so the edge stays clean. The sheet may form the complete outer layer or a thin finish over a thicker material.
