Hareline Wormille Micro
Hareline Wormille Micro is a compact chenille with a wiggly, worm-like profile. It builds slim fly bodies and moving elements on streamers, and it can also be used for appendages on crayfish or crab patterns. The Micro version is suited to smaller, narrower profiles when a standard larger chenille would create too much bulk.
Construction and use
To tie it in, expose a short section of the core, secure that section to the hook shank, and wind the material in adjacent turns. Control the fibres as you work so the wiggly surface remains even and the body keeps a consistent shape. It may be wrapped from the rear of the fly toward the head or cut into short sections for additional details. Adjust the spacing of the turns to control body width, then secure the material firmly before trimming the excess.
- Form: compact chenille designed to be wound.
- Profile: fine, wiggly and suggestive of a segmented worm body.
- Uses: small fly bodies, streamers, and crayfish or crab-pattern details.
- Tying: secure the exposed core and wind in adjacent turns while managing the fibres.
