Hareline Zudbubbler Popper Bodies are six large, ready-shaped foam bodies for building a popper or slider. The formed profile can be matched directly to the hook and intended construction. Mount a body on a suitable hook, then add a tail, rubber legs and the remaining fly dressing. The finished body’s front profile contributes to the surface action of the popper or slider, so match the hook and mounting position to the construction you intend to tie.

Construction and use

Test-fit the body on the hook shank and leave room for the tail and additional components. Secure it with controlled, broad thread wraps, distributing pressure so the thread does not cut into the foam. Add the tail, rubber legs and chosen finishing materials, then check that the body does not restrict the hook. The buoyancy of the finished fly depends on the complete assembly, including the hook, eyes or other dressing and any added weight, so evaluate it after all components have been attached.
