Hedron Dyed-Pearl Lateral Scale
Hedron Lateral Scale Dyed Pearl is made from broad, crimped synthetic strands with a scale-like texture and a pearl-based effect in the dyed colour versions of this family. The material forms a broad lateral accent that can run along a streamer’s sides or become part of its back and wing. Because the strands present a wider surface, they define the outline of a large fly without requiring a dense bundle of fine fibres.
Construction and use
Select a small number of strands, cut them to the planned length and align them before tying them in. Position the bundle along the side of the hook shank, make firm thread wraps, then separate and arrange the material along the profile. Short sections can be added to a wing or tail, while fuller sections work as a lateral line on large pike or saltwater streamers. Trim the ends after securing the material to keep the shape clean.
