Hedron Fire Fly
Hedron Fire Fly is a synthetic fibre material with a crimped surface. The textured strands catch and reflect light, adding a distinct accent to a fly’s wing, sides or tail as the pattern moves through the water. Use the material on its own in small bundles or layer it with other fibres. This makes it easy to control both bulk and length without packing the pattern too densely. Fire Fly suits streamers, baitfish imitations and other fly patterns that call for a bright synthetic detail.
Construction and use
Cut a small bundle, even the tips and secure it with several firm thread wraps. The crimped strands can be layered, blended with fibres of another texture or positioned along the sides of a wing. Once tied in, separate the fibres and trim the ends so the material retains free movement.
- Light reflection The crimped surface adds a visible reflective accent to wings and tails.
- Streamer wings Build controlled volume with several light layers rather than one dense bundle.
- Profile details Place the fibres along the back, sides or as selected tail strands.
- Preparation Work with small bundles, secure them firmly and set the length after tying in.
