Hedron Flashabou Accent
Hedron Flashabou Accent consists of flat reflective strands made for selectively highlighting a fly’s construction. The slim fibres can be placed in a streamer wing, along the sides or in the tail, adding a clear flash without unnecessarily increasing bulk. Use the material as a single accent or combine it in layers with synthetic fibres and other wing materials. The amount can be adjusted precisely to suit the size and character of the pattern.
Construction and use
Select a small amount and secure it firmly at the chosen point on the hook shank. The strands work well between wing layers or positioned symmetrically along the sides. After tying them in, separate the fibres, check their placement and trim the ends so they do not interfere with the fly’s movement.
- Wing accent Add individual strands between layers of synthetic wing fibres.
- Sides and lateral line Position the material along the profile to define a streamer’s silhouette.
- Tail detail Use a short amount as a controlled flash in the rear of the fly.
- Working method Tie in a small bundle, separate the strands and trim after setting the profile.
