Hedron Flashabou Mirage

Hedron Flashabou Mirage is flat reflective flash with an opalescent, colour-shifting reflection. The appearance changes with the angle of light and the movement of the fly, giving a streamer wing a variable baitfish-like flash without adding much bulk. The flat strands work as individual accents, a layer between hair bundles or a light tail extension.

Construction and use

Secure Flashabou Mirage to the hook shank in small portions. Align the strands, bind them with several firm thread wraps and distribute them along the sides of the wing. The material can be layered with synthetic hair, tapered or trimmed after tying to match the streamer profile. A few freely moving strands are often enough to create a clear lateral or wing accent without restricting the fly.

• Form: flat, reflective Flashabou strands.
• Optical effect: opalescent reflection with shifting colours.
• Uses: streamer wings, backs, sides and tails.
