Loon Ergo Bobbin
Loon Ergo Bobbin is a complete fly-tying bobbin holder with an ergonomic build suited to precise work on small flies as well as larger patterns. Its powder-coated handle sits between the thumb and fingers, providing a stable point of control while the tool is guided around the hook. The long tube extends working reach for larger dressings while retaining the control needed for finer tying tasks.
The spool is carried by a spring-steel frame. Thread resistance comes from the pressure of the arms against the spool and can be influenced by hand pressure while tying. This is a conventional spring-arm system, not a dial, slider or disc-drag mechanism. It helps prevent the spool from unwinding freely and allows immediate tension changes when securing materials, forming bodies or finishing heads.
After fitting a spool, draw off a short length of thread and check that it turns smoothly without excessive play or binding. If necessary, gently alter the pressure of the spring arms before tying. Keep the tube clean and inspect its entry and exit regularly, as trapped debris or damaged edges may interfere with thread travel and cause fraying.
