Negnon Alpha Waders
Negnon Alpha Velorum
Negnon Alpha Velorum is the basic model in the Negnon wader line, but it is not a typical simple entry-level wader. It includes solutions usually found in more expensive models: reduced seam construction, a durable nylon outer layer and a drop-down upper system.
The waders are made from three-layer STREAMTEX® 3L FD fabric. The material has a waterproofness of 16,000 mm and breathability above 5,000 g/m2/24h. The construction is designed for regular fishing, comfort and durability while wading.
There is only one seam on the leg, positioned on the outside. This reduces the number of areas exposed to abrasion during walking and wading. The nylon outer layer improves resistance to normal use on the water.
The drop-down upper system makes the waders more comfortable to use on warmer days or while walking away from the water. It allows better comfort without taking the waders off completely.
The favourable price of Alpha Velorum results from a direct sales model. Negnon is sold to the customer without the traditional chain of wholesalers, distributors and shops, so more of the value remains in the product itself.

These waders are for anglers who want a good price without giving up practical technical solutions.
1. Sizing and fitting before use
Choose the size according to the actual model’s size chart, taking body and foot measurements into account. Also allow for the clothing worn underneath the waders. Try on the waders with the clothing and boots you will use when wading. Check your freedom of movement: sit down, squat and lift a knee as if stepping up onto a high step. The fabric should not be under excessive tension at the crotch, knees or joins. Adjust the braces and belt. Waders that are too tight can cause excessive tension and damage to the fabric, particularly around the crotch, knees and seat. Waders that are too loose can lead to folds and increased friction, accelerating fabric wear. The neoprene socks must fit properly, without squeezing or bunching inside the wading boots.
2. Cleaning after use
Rinse off mud, sand and other dirt with clean water. After contact with salt water, rinse the waders thoroughly with fresh water. Remove sand from around the socks, guards and zips. Avoid vigorous scrubbing of the material and joins.
3. Washing
Always wash the waders in lukewarm water. Hot water can weaken glued joins, which may cause seam tape to peel away and damage the membrane laminate. We recommend gentle hand-washing with a detergent intended for membrane garments. Rinse detergent residues thoroughly. Do not use fabric softeners, bleach, solvents or aggressive cleaning agents. Do not machine-wash the waders unless the label for this model explicitly permits it. Always follow the care instructions on the label.
4. Drying
Dry both the outside and inside of the waders thoroughly, especially the insides of the neoprene socks. Dry them in a well-ventilated place, in the shade, away from heaters, flames and other sources of heat. Do not put wet waders in a sealed bag or leave them in a car.
5. Protecting the material and socks
Put on and remove the waders carefully, without pulling roughly on the material, socks or joins. Do not walk on the ground in neoprene socks alone—use suitable wading boots. Before putting on the boots, check that there is no sand or grit inside them.
6. Storage
Store the waders completely dry, in a well-ventilated place, loosely laid out or hung up, without sharp folds in the material, socks or zip. Protect them from high temperatures: do not leave them in a hot car, beside a heater or in the sun. Do not store wet waders in a sealed bag or container. Heat combined with moisture can accelerate the degradation of materials and joins.
7. Water repellency treatment (DWR)
Regularly check the water-repellent properties of the fabric. If water no longer forms droplets on its surface and begins to soak into the outer fabric, we recommend renewing the DWR treatment. Use only products intended for breathable membrane clothing, according to their maker’s instructions. Avoid products requiring fixing at high temperature. Remember that DWR treatment does not replace the waterproof membrane and is not intended to remedy leaks.
8. Inspection and repairs
Regularly check the condition of the material, joins, socks and zips. Respond to the first signs of wear: abrasions, minor damage, peeling seam tape or leaks. Repair them before further use or contact TAIMEN service. Do not wait until the damage grows. For repairs, use only materials intended for repairing membrane garments or neoprene, depending on the part being repaired.
