Negnon Fly Line Backing 30 lb is a polyester reel backing that builds the required spool capacity and provides a reserve behind the fly line. If a strong fish takes the complete line, the backing allows the fight to continue without interruption. The 30 lb version occupies a useful middle ground between light trout backing and the heavier material selected for the largest fly-fishing outfits.
The backing uses a tight, round braid that settles evenly around the spool arbor and creates a stable foundation for the fly line. Polyester limits stretch, while the smooth surface reduces friction as line leaves the reel during a fast run. Its consistent construction along the full length supports orderly winding and reduces the material's tendency to tangle during use.
A versatile 30 lb backing
Each unit is 50 m long with a nominal breaking strain of 30 lb, approximately 15 kg. This capacity suits stronger freshwater outfits, salmon and predator fishing, and situations in which a fish may need to be played on the backing. Six fluorescent colours — yellow, orange, blue, purple, pink and green — make it easier to follow the material beyond the reel. The units are joined in runs of ten spools, allowing several purchased units to be supplied as one continuous length.
