Negnon Omega Orionis Big Fly Line
Negnon Omega Orionis Big Fly is a floating fly line for situations that call for a large, bulky fly, particularly a pike streamer, together with controlled delivery and reliable handling throughout the retrieve. A fly with substantial volume creates noticeable air resistance, so successful turnover depends on how the head carries energy through the final part of the cast as well as on the selected line class. This line family is designed around that task and can be used in both fresh water and salt water.
The range runs from WF8F to WF10F. The F denotes a floating line, while the choice of classes enables anglers to match the line to their rod and the size of fly they intend to cast. Omega Orionis Big Fly is intended for fishing in which sizeable streamers are part of the normal approach and require positive, controlled energy transfer. Its handling supports a purposeful casting stroke while leaving the caster in charge of timing and loop formation.
Profile and fishing use
The WF, or weight-forward, profile places the working mass in the front head, followed by a thinner running line. This arrangement helps to load the rod and carry energy towards the leader and a large streamer. That becomes especially useful with flies incorporating broad wings, synthetic materials or other features that increase drag in the air. The profile assists the turnover of a bulky pattern without dictating a single casting style, allowing the angler to adjust line length outside the rod tip and casting tempo to the conditions.
A low-stretch braided core gives the line a direct handling character. Its limited stretch supports efficient energy transfer during the cast and provides clearer contact with the line while working a streamer. The very slick, silky Hi-Silk coating complements the core by helping both the head and running line travel smoothly through the guides. Total length is 30 m, providing a complete fly line for the tackle commonly used when presenting larger patterns.
The front section uses HI-Float technology, supporting the tip of this floating line at the surface and making its position easier to manage. A factory-fitted front loop provides a convenient connection for the leader, including when a change is needed at the water. Printed identification on the line makes its class and type easier to recognise after it has been removed from a reel or line case.
