Partridge SLJ-X Wide Gape Jig X Fly Hooks

Partridge SLJ-X Wide Gape Jig X is a barbless jig hook for competition, Euro Nymph and Perdigon patterns, as well as other flies tied with slotted tungsten beads. Its short shank and heavier wire suit compact, weighted dressings with an exceptionally wide gape.

Design and use

The hook is 1X short in shank length and uses 1X heavy wire. A needle point, forged sproat bend and beaked point determine the tying layout. Leave the gape clear, avoid overbuilding the thorax and match the bead to the compact shank length. The available space is useful when tying dense, weighted jig nymphs.
