Peak Bobbin Rest Assembly
Peak Bobbin Rest Assembly is an adjustable bobbin cradle designed to mount on the vertical stem of a fly-tying vise. Its distinguishing construction combines a crossbar mount, a stainless-steel wire arm and a mountain-peak-shaped thread rest. The rest supports the thread while the bobbin holder hangs below the hook, keeping it from swinging freely beside the working area when materials are being arranged or the vise is rotated.
The cradle can be positioned quickly in relation to the fly: the black thumbscrew sets the arm’s reach and rotational position, while the mount can be moved along the stem. It fits vise stems with a 3/8-inch diameter. The mount should be slid on from the end of the stem rather than snapped over it from the side. When the cradle is not required, the wire arm can be removed while the mount remains on the vise.
