RIO-Fishpond Headgate Tippet Holder with 5 Powerflex Spools

RIO Rio-Fishpond Headgate combines a Fishpond Headgate tippet dispenser with five spools of RIO Powerflex tippet material in a ready-organised set. The bundle includes 30-yard spools in 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X and 6X, providing a practical range for matching the final section of a leader to the fly, presentation and fishing conditions.

Powerflex is a clear nylon copolymer tippet with high knot and tensile strength. It is suited to common trout-fishing applications with dry flies, soft-hackle wet flies and nymphs. Attached to a fly vest or fishing bag, the Headgate keeps frequently used tippet sizes together and within easy reach while changing rigs or replacing a worn section.

The spring-loaded hinge allows spools to be added or changed without dismantling the entire arrangement. The dispenser holds up to seven tippet spools, leaving room to adapt the selection carried, while its built-in rotating cutting blade provides a convenient way to trim material at the required length.
