Royal Coachman
Royal Coachman is a classic, high-contrast dry attractor. Choose it when fish are feeding on the surface but there is no distinct hatch calling for a closely matched imitation. The pattern was first tied by John Haily in New York in 1878.
Fish it on a dead drift through currents, over riffles and across lightly rippled water. It is intended for trout and grayling, and the barbless hook makes releasing the fish easier.
