Spirit River Bodi-Flair
Spirit River Bodi-Flair is a twisted body material with a mylar core and sparsely arranged fibres radiating from it. When wound, it forms a textured, hairy body for leeches, Woolly Buggers, salmon patterns and steelhead patterns. The continuous core keeps the material controlled while the open fibre arrangement gives the finished body a distinct, mobile surface.
Construction and use
Tie the material in by its core, then wind it over the prepared hook shank. Sweep the fibres rearward before every turn so they remain free and are not pulled underneath the neighbouring wrap. Body density and volume can be adjusted by changing the spacing between turns: close turns produce a fuller body, while wider spacing leaves more open structure. Secure the final section with tying thread and trim away the excess core.
