Spirit River Rabbit-Tron is a soft rabbit dubbing enhanced with Antron for a touch of micro flash and added luster. It retains the full, natural character expected from rabbit while introducing a little more light through the blend, so the finished body is not completely flat. This makes it a practical option for patterns that need a soft silhouette with a restrained visual accent.

Construction and use

Rabbit-Tron is especially suited to wet flies and emergers, including bodies, thoraxes and collars where a mobile, brushed finish is useful. Rabbit fibres take thread readily, so begin with a small pinch and add more only as the taper requires. After winding, tease the surface gently with a needle or dubbing brush to release a few fibres without making the pattern unnecessarily bulky.

  • Blend: soft rabbit dubbing with added Antron.
  • Finish: a full rabbit texture with subtle translucency and micro flash.
  • Best for: wet flies, emergers and soft-bodied pattern sections.
  • Handling: build gradually, then brush lightly to bring out selected fibres.
