Spirit River UV2 Hemp Dubbing

Spirit River UV2 Hemp Dubbing is a medium-fine fibre blend in subdued, natural-looking colours. Its slightly hairy structure creates bodies with a convincing buggy character, making it useful for both standard nymphs and larger, more impressionistic patterns. The UV2 treatment distinguishes this series by adding visibility in the ultraviolet range while retaining the restrained appearance expected from a natural-toned dubbing.

Construction and use

Use Hemp Dubbing for nymphs, wet flies, larvae and general bottom-dwelling imitations. The medium-fine fibres can be spun directly onto the thread for a controlled body or built up for a fuller thorax. For a lively finish, leave a few fibres projecting from the thread and lightly tease the completed body with a dubbing brush. This brings out the rougher texture without turning the whole fly into an overly shaggy pattern.
