Spirit River UV2 Saddle
Spirit River UV2 Saddle is loose rooster saddle feather material for larger fly components. The elongated feathers provide a long, continuous section for streamer wings, tails and full profiles on pike flies and other large patterns. UV2 technology increases colour visibility in the ultraviolet range. A single feather can be used whole, combined with other feathers or trimmed to the outline required by the construction.
Construction and use
Inspect the fibre width and alignment along the section you plan to use. An even fibre line helps produce a clean wing and consistent outline, while the appropriate feather length supports a larger silhouette. Secure the material in stages and check the density and proportions of the fly as it develops. Several feathers can be combined when the pattern calls for a fuller profile.
