Spirit River UV2 Schlappen
Spirit River UV2 Schlappen consists of loose schlappen feathers for building large flies. Their broad, soft and mobile fibres create a full profile with pronounced movement in the water. The material suits large streamers, pike flies and saltwater patterns. A feather can serve as a wing, tail, collar or general volume material. UV2 technology increases colour visibility in the ultraviolet range.
Construction and use
Select the feather section according to its role in the pattern. A more compact fibre arrangement gives greater control of the outline, while softer sections provide extra pulse and movement during the retrieve. On large flies, secure the material in stages with moderate thread tension so the fibres retain their freedom of movement. Prepare only the amount required for the intended silhouette.
