Spirit River UV2 Selected Bucktail

Spirit River UV2 Selected BuckTail is selected hair from a deer tail, supplied as bucktail with a UV2 finish. The relatively long, stable fibres are used for streamer, pike and saltwater wings, as well as tails and supporting bundles in larger patterns.

Construction and use

Select fibres of similar length, remove underfur and short hairs, then align the tips in a stacker. Bucktail flares less under thread than hollow deer belly hair, allowing a slim, stable bundle. Secure it firmly at the base, adding material in measured layers and trimming the excess before forming the head.
