Stonfo Deer Hair Tool

Stonfo Dear Hair Tool is a specialised razor holder designed for trimming and shaping deer-hair heads on flies and streamers. Its distinguishing feature is adjustable blade flex: rotating the ring nut bends the razor blade to suit the profile being formed. The blade therefore does not have to remain flat and can be set to follow a rounded head more closely.

Adjusting the curvature allows the cutting edge to travel along a chosen arc while projecting fibres are removed gradually. This supports a more uniform cut than working with an unflexed blade and lets the tyer alter the tool’s setting during successive stages of shaping the head. The tool is supplied with replaceable double-edge razor blades.
