Stonfo Flylab C clamp vise

Stonfo Flylab C clamp vise is a complete fly-tying vise configured for direct attachment to a bench with a C-clamp. Its compact, lightweight construction is paired with one interchangeable medium jaw assembly made from hardened steel. The rear knob opens and closes the jaws, allowing the clamping pressure to be matched carefully to the hook wire. Fully locking the rotation before adjusting the jaws makes this operation more controlled. Seat the hook several millimetres inside the gripping surfaces rather than at the jaw tips; this provides a steadier hold and helps protect the tips from damage. One medium jaw assembly is supplied, while other compatible jaw sizes are not included.

The head rotates through 360°, making it easy to inspect the fly from every side, bring the underside of the shank into view and check the proportions of successive material layers. The rotary-tension control can be set for free movement, for noticeable stops at 0° and 180°, or for full locking in the selected position. Head angle is infinitely adjustable with the supplied Allen key. This lets you position the hook for comfortable hand support while maintaining clearance for the bobbin, scissors and other tools. Rotation is particularly useful when checking wing symmetry, hackle placement and the finish around the head of a fly.

The C-clamp fits tabletops up to 50 mm thick. For a stable setup, select a rigid, flat section of the bench edge with sufficient clearance underneath, then tighten the clamp only enough to prevent the column from moving during tying. This mounting style suits a fixed tying station, while the vise remains compact enough to remove and store when the bench is needed for other work. The supplied spring material clip holds thread, hackle or another temporarily parked material clear of the working area. An Allen key and instruction manual are also included.
