Stonfo Flytec C Clamp Vise

Stonfo Flytec C Clamp Vise is a complete fly-tying vise combining in-line 360° rotation with a C-clamp bench mount. Its stainless-steel head shaft runs through two precision ball bearings, producing smooth movement when wrapping materials under controlled tension or inspecting a fly from every side. The supplied centering gauge helps position the hook shank on the rotational axis. Rotary resistance is adjustable, while the head can be locked at the 0° position whenever a fixed working position is preferable to continuous rotation.

The vise comes with three interchangeable hardened-steel jaws which together accommodate hooks from size 28 to 4/0. Rather than asking one jaw profile to cover the entire range, the tier can select the appropriate jaw for small, medium or large hooks. This provides useful clearance around delicate patterns and firmer support for heavier streamer hooks. The hook is secured with the head’s locking knob. For reliable holding, seat the hook straight in the working section of the selected jaws and tighten only until it remains stationary under thread pressure; choosing the correct jaw reduces the need for excessive clamping force.

The C-clamp attaches to tabletops up to 50 mm thick. This mounting arrangement leaves the work surface open and provides a stable tying point when applying stronger thread tension or shaping larger bodies. Before tying, secure the clamp to a rigid, flat bench edge, set the column at a comfortable height, then centre the hook and adjust the rotary resistance to suit the task. The set also includes an adjustable bobbin rest that can be positioned for parachute work, a spring material clip, an Allen key and an instruction manual, giving the vise the supporting components needed for both conventional fixed-position tying and rotation-led techniques.
