Stonfo FlyTec Leva Base Vise
Stonfo FlyTec Leva Base Vise is a complete fly-tying vise distinguished by its lever-operated jaws and in-line rotary head. The lever makes hooks quick to secure and replace, which is particularly useful when tying a sequence of the same pattern. The set contains 3 interchangeable hardened-steel jaws covering hook sizes from 28 to 4/0. This broad working range lets the vise move from small flies to larger streamers without restricting the tying station to a single category of hook.
The stainless-steel shaft rotates through 360° on 2 precision ball bearings, while adjustable rotary tension lets the tier choose a freer or more controlled movement. Once the hook shank has been positioned on the axis with the supplied centring gauge, rotation makes it easier to inspect proportions from every side and apply body materials in consistent turns. The head can also be locked in its working position whenever rotation is unnecessary. Its compact arrangement maintains useful access around the hook without taking up excessive room on the bench.
The package includes both a freestanding pedestal base with recessed areas for small components and a C-clamp suitable for table tops up to 50 mm thick. The pedestal allows the complete station to be moved or stored without fastening it to the furniture, while the clamp provides a fixed connection at the edge of a suitable table. Before tying, select the jaw that suits the hook, check that the hook is held securely, centre the shank and set the rotary tension. The included rests and spring material clip help control the thread and keep longer materials clear during successive stages of the pattern.
