Stonfo Leader Straightener
Stonfo Leader Straightener is a compact tool for quickly removing coils and unwanted memory from fly-fishing leaders. It is particularly useful when a leader has retained the shape of its spool or packet. The robust plastic body contains two special rubber pads, between which the leader is drawn to leave it straighter and easier to handle.
Its anatomical shape provides a secure grip and allows the angler to vary the pressure applied to the leader. Place the required section between the rubber surfaces, close the tool gently and pull the leader through in one smooth movement. Pressure can be increased gradually, with extra care around fine leader tips and delicate tippet material.
A straighter leader is easier to lay out and helps avoid coils that can interfere with fly presentation. The built-in eyelet allows the tool to be attached to a tool holder or retractor, keeping it readily accessible on a fishing vest, pack or bag while setting up at the water.
