Sybai Fine Alpaca Blend Dubbing combines long, superfine stranded fibres with UV flash fibres in an easy-to-work blend. It is more than a body material: use it for bodies, winging, or as an alternative to hare’s ear or bucktail. The long strands add a distinct, mobile-looking outline while the blend remains practical to handle on the thread or in a dubbing loop.

Construction and use

Start with a small pinch and distribute it on the thread, or place it in a dubbing loop when you need firmer control of the longer fibres. Many strands are hollow, so mixing the material with a little CDC floatant can produce flies that float well. Keep the strands long for wings and tails; for a body, trim only after the main profile has been formed. This preserves the useful length while you work.
