Use it to form fuller bellies, throats or selected sections of a fly where an extra reflective accent can strengthen the overall impression.
Construction and use
This dubbing is particularly useful when a fly should have a broader, more expressive body than a neat, tightly compressed nymph. It can be used on its own or blended with other materials to adjust bulk and contrast. A practical approach is to apply small amounts to the thread, twist firmly and then open the finished body with a dubbing brush or hook-and-loop tool. This distributes the fibres more evenly and prevents dense lumps that can spoil the intended silhouette.
