Sybai Magic Pearl Strips

Sybai Magic Pearl Strips are thin, non-elastic strips with a pearlescent, opalescent finish. Use them for ribbing, nymph backs, bodies, wing cases or wing details. The opalescent surface changes its appearance with the angle of light, making the strip suitable for small freshwater flies as well as larger saltwater patterns.

Construction and use

Cut a length suited to the fly and round the corners if a clean back or wing case is required. For ribbing, tie the strip in at the rear and wind it towards the front with even tension and touching turns. For a back or wing case, secure it at the rear, pull it over the shaped body and tie it down at the front. Treat it as a non-elastic strip rather than stretching it during preparation.
