Sybai Plastic Beads

Sybai Plastic Beads are lightweight plastic beads used as coloured heads, hot spots and components in pike-fly rigs. They add volume and organise the profile of a pattern without introducing the ballast associated with a metal bead.

Construction and use

The bead can be fitted on a hook shank or threaded onto the wire linking sections of an articulated fly. The mounting method depends on the pattern, so check the opening against the hook eye and bend or the diameter of the connecting wire before tying. Match the size to the width of the intended head and leave enough room for thread and the remaining materials. Its low weight allows a clear colour accent in nymphs, streamers and pike flies with little change to their loading.
