Sybai Stretch Glass

Sybai Stretch Glass is a very soft, highly elastic translucent strip, approximately 10 mm wide and 1 m long. It is intended for wound bodies, nymph backs and wing cases where a soft, see-through body profile is required.

Construction and use

Cut a length suited to the hook and tie it in at the rear of the body. Pull the strip evenly as you wind it forward: increased tension narrows the material and lets you control the thickness of each turn. Touching, slightly overlapping turns create a continuous body, while spaced turns can produce segmentation. Secure the strip at the front with several thread wraps, trim the excess and finish the head. For a wing case, lay the strip over the prepared underbody and tie down its front edge.
