Sybai Tinsel Hair
Sybai Tinsel Hair consists of loose, flat synthetic fibres with reflective flash for wings, tails, lateral accents and backs. The material can be tied as a single accent or built up in several thin layers. It is soft and settles easily along the fly, allowing the tier to control both the amount of flash and the width of the profile without adding unnecessary bulk.
Construction and use
Tinsel Hair is suited to streamers, small baitfish patterns and flies that call for a flat reflective accent. It can also be used for ribbing, tails and selected body details. A hank contains approximately 300 strands, although most applications require a much smaller portion. Align the fibres, secure them at the hook shank and trim them after setting the desired profile.
- Wings and backs Layer flat strands to create a clear streamer outline.
- Tails and sides Add a modest amount as a mobile reflective accent.
- Ribbing Wind a narrow bundle around the body and secure it at the required points.
- Hank The pack contains 300 strands in one hank; separate only the amount needed for the pattern.
