Textreme Brill

Textreme Brill is chenille with a fine knitted core that holds its effect fibres at wider intervals. The arrangement produces a distinct, shiny outline when wound without adding unnecessary bulk to the fly. It is intended mainly for medium and smaller fly bodies and streamers where a controlled fibre effect is required.

Construction and use

Before tying in the material, expose a short section of the core by moving the fibres aside, then secure the core with thread. Wind Brill in adjacent turns along the prepared hook shank, sweeping the fibres back before each turn. This keeps the fibres on the outside of the body while the core forms an even foundation. Expose and tie down the core at the finishing end as well, then trim the body to the desired profile with scissors.
