Textreme Brill
Textreme Brill is chenille built on a fine knitted core with securely held effect fibres. Their wider spacing helps create a shiny, dimensional outline without making the body excessively thick. The material can be used for medium and smaller flies and streamers, particularly when the pattern needs a clear fibre effect while retaining a compact shape.
Construction and use
Prepare the tying end by moving the fibres aside to expose the core. Secure the core with thread, then wind the chenille in adjacent turns, sweeping the fibres back before every turn. This method keeps the body surface even and directs the fibres outward. At the finishing point, expose the core again, tie it down, and trim the material with scissors to match the intended fly profile.
- Form: chenille on a fine knitted core.
- Fibres: spaced along the core while remaining firmly held in the construction.
- Profile: suited to compact bodies of medium or smaller volume.
- Handling: sweep the fibres back before each winding turn.
